Yesterday I spent the day with Tim covering the annual Scramble for Sam golf event. This is my third year covering the event. It is an annual golf fundraiser that the Kazos family hosts each year in honor of their son Samuel, who passed away soon after he was born. While I can’t even image going through what their family has gone through with the death of their son, they have done amazing things honoring him.
Each year the family focuses on something that they will donate in memory of Samuel. The first year I attended, the proceeds went to creating a special room at Gigi’s Playhouse. Last year, the proceeds went to the Miracle League to create a toddler water section. This year, the proceeds are again going to the Miracle League.
I’m not a golfer, but from my experience attending the past three years, this event is a fun one even for the not so athletic person. Many of the golfers are there to hang out with their friends and of course have a great time. So next year if you are looking for a fun event to attend that goes to a great cause, Scramble for Sam is a wonderful choice.
Below are some photos from the event:
Until next time,
